Everyone feels differently about the dentist, which is why we offer three levels of sedation. Not sure which is right for you? You don’t need to be. Dr. Holloman will recommend the best fit based on how you feel and your health history.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
You breathe it in through a small mask and feel calm within minutes. You’re awake the whole time, it wears off quickly, and most patients drive themselves home.
Oral Sedation
You take a pill before your visit and feel deeply relaxed and drowsy, but you can still answer questions. Someone will need to drive you home.
IV Sedation
Medication given through a small IV in your arm helps you feel very relaxed. Many patients remember little of their visit. A driver is required.
Who It’s For
Sedation may be a good fit if you have dental fear, a strong gag reflex, or trouble sitting through long appointments, or if you’d like to complete several treatments in fewer visits.
